For our first feature, we would like to introduce you to Darren Hill, Business Development Manager at NTG Group.

 

Tell us a little bit about your role at NTG Group?

I am delighted to say that I joined NTG Group as Business Development Manager in June of this year. Whilst I am fairly new – wow – what a fantastic journey it’s been so far!

As Business Development Manager at NTG Group, I’m responsible for driving new business opportunities and growing strategic partnerships with clients across the UK and globally. Whether I’m meeting face-to-face or connecting online, I focus on building strong relationships with both customers and prospects.

I also handle Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages, review detailed engineering drawings and models, and collaborate closely with our talented internal teams.

Every day brings a new opportunity to contribute, find innovative solutions, and help the company to grow and succeed.

 

What was your career path prior to NTG Group?

I have more than two decades of experience in technical engineering. I have had the privilege of working for various tooling companies – for more than a decade – as Technical Sales Engineer and I also held the role of Applications Engineer for eight years. In addition to being a time served engineer, I also hold an engineering degree – both of which have equipped me with the skills to navigate the dynamic field of precision engineering with confidence.

My career journey has been full of learning, growth, and opportunities which I now bring to my role at NTG Group.

 

What do you hope to achieve in your role?

I’m really looking forward to continuing to grow with NTG Group. I hope to collaborate with my colleagues and our customers on projects and help to push the boundaries of what we can achieve – engineering precision excellence together.

The opportunity to work with a forward-thinking team and make an impact in the industry is incredibly motivating. I would say the future is looking fantastic!

 

What do you enjoy about working for NTG Group?

Honestly, the culture here is something else: the team is all about innovation, growth, and making big things happen. Everyone is passionate, motivated, and supportive – it’s the kind of environment that makes you want to give your best every single day.

 

Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work…

I have raced and completed multiple Ironman triathlons which have been some of the toughest but most rewarding challenges I’ve taken on – testing my endurance, resilience, discipline, and mental strength. Those lessons have shaped how I approach both life and work.

The real motivation behind everything I do is my family. My two older daughters are growing up fast into amazing talented young women. While my two younger boys make sure there’s never a quiet moment at home. And that’s not forgetting my fantastic partner. Between them all, I’m constantly reminded of what matters most and why I keep pushing myself forward.

Looking ahead, my goal is balance: to keep building in my career, to stay strong in sport, and above all, to be present for my family. Just like in the Ironman triathlons, it’s not about speed – it’s about staying the course and the people who make the journey worthwhile.
